PB-20 GENERAL USE RATES METHODS: POULTRY DRINKING WATER APPLICATIONS

a- Prepare a stock solution of 10 mls of PB-20-> Solution per Liter (1,000 mis) or (1 oz per gallon) of water and inject this concentrate into your water line through your medicator unit set at a ratio of 1 to 100.

 

b- Use the above solution for the first 7 to 10 days and than reduce the concentration of your stock solution by 50% until your birds are shipped for processing.

The feed requirements of poultry are directly related to bird weight. Water input and output is related to feed consumption and to environment temperature. Over half of the water intake is from the feed.  Insufficient water will kill chicks, usually because they are unable to drink. Automatic waterers ensure poultry will not dehydrate.

 

Laying hens use annually about 4 Liters of water per dozen eggs.

Broilers will drink 5 to 7 liters per day per 100 birds in moderate weather and 50% more in hot weather..

The poultry industry has become an important economic activity in many countries. In large-scale rearing facilities, where poultry are exposed to stressful conditions, problems related to diseases and deterioration of environmental conditions often occur and result in serious economic losses. Prevention and control of diseases have led during recent decades to substantial increase in the use of alternative medicines.

So, the possibility of antibiotics ceasing to be used as growth stimulants for poultry and the concern about the side-effects of their use as therapeutic agents has produced a climate in which both consumer and manufacturer are looking for alternatives. Probiotics are being considered to fill this gap and already some farmers are using them in preference to antibiotics.

Poultry DFM is a direct-fed microbial blend for all classes of birds. Birds under stress are susceptible to pathogenic invasion. Why iodine kills micro-organisms: Iodine dissolved in water is a potent broad-spectrum biocide even at low concentrations (1 -30ppm). Iodine (12) accepts an electron (e-) from the molecule it is reacting with in process called oxidation and turns the iodine molecule into the non biocidal iodide (I-) ion :

When in contact with micro-organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa, iodine is able to rapidly penetrate their cell walls and oxidise number of critical components within the cell. The combined effect of these oxidative reactions is cell death.

 

Toxic disinfectant replacement :

Extensive and ongoing laboratory testing has demonstrated outstanding results in fungal kill rates on a wide range of fruit and vegetables (efficacy data available on request). The unique opportunity to replace certain toxic fungicides with a highly effective biocide in an environmentally clean process that will remove all by-products is highly significant.

 

Iodine vs chlorine Active killing agent: Chlorine in solution converts to two compounds: Hypochlorous Acid (HOCI) and Hypochlorite (0C1-). HOCI is biocidal and will remain in solution only at pH above 6.5, (Below this pH, HOCI breaks down and will gas off quickly out of solution.)

​

In contrast, iodine breaks down into four principal compounds: Iodine (12), Hypoiodious Acid (HIM, Triiodide (13-) and Iodate (103-). Both 12 and HIO are strong biocidal agents. 13- and 103- are only present in very low concentrations and only significant at very high pH; greater than 8.5.

​

Effect of pH: To maximise the concentration of the required HOCI chlorine compound, the wash water must be maintained within a narrow pH range (6.5 to 7.5). However, the natural chemical consequence of adding chlorine to water is to alter the pH level, dramatically affecting biocidal action. At a pH of 8.0, the active HOCI has dropped to only 25% of its level at pH 6.5. This level is also less than 30% as effective as iodine at the same pH. In addition, chlorine reacts three times faster than iodine with proteins. The effect of this reactivity is to substantially and quickly reduce the effective biocidal action of chlorine in solutions with a high organic load.

​

The active iodine compounds, 12 and HIO, remain effective at much higher concentrations over a much wider pH range (pH 3.0 to pH 8.5).

 

DIRECTIONS:

For Use in Farms

Prior to disinfection, all poultry and their feeds must be removed from the premises. Disinfect the form premises by spraying 8 ml of loClean per liter of water. This includes emptying all troughs, racks and other feeding and water appliances. Remove all litter and droppings from floors, walls and other surfaces occupied or traversed by poultry. After 10 minutes of disinfection, ventilate buildings, coops and other closed spates. Do not house poultry or employ equipment until treatment has been absorbed, set or dried.

 

Sanitizing Clean Table Egg Shells

To sanitize clean shell eggs intended for food or food products, spray with a solution of 10 ml of loClean per 5 liters of water. The solution must be equal to or warmer than the eggs, but not to exceed 54D C. Wet the eggs thoroughly and allow to drain. Freshly washed eggs may be sanitized with this compound only if the eggs are rinsed prior to application of the compound. A subsequent potable water rinse is not required. Eggs must be reasonably dry before casing or breaking..

 

Shoe Bath Sanitizer

Disinfection of shoes/foot wear prior to entering sheds etc. is critical to prevent pathogens from entering the premises. Scrape shoes off the dirt and debris and place in the footbath (20 - 25 ml of loClean per liter of water) for 30 seconds prior to entering area.

 

Hand Sanitation

Wash hands thoroughly, prior to sanitizing. Immerse hands in a solution containing 8 ml of loClean per 5 liters of water.

IODOX A

​POULTRY DRINKING WATER DISINFECTANT SANITIZERS

​

Over time, scale, rust, algae and dirt can collect in water lines if proper maintenance of the system does not take place. The build up of such material is an ideal place for microorganisms to become established. This being the case, every time the bird consumes water it is exposed to an increased microbial load.

​

Besides directly affecting bird performance, dirty water lines can have a negative effect on medication and vaccines delivered through the watering system. Also, sanitizers, used to reduce microbial population in drinking water, can be neutralized by the organic and inorganic build up in the system.

​

lodox-A is a safe and effective disinfectant which is added to poultry drinking water to prevent the spread of pathogenic bacteria (disease causing organisms) and cross contamination in and through the animals drinking water.

​

lodox-A is an organic biocidal disinfectant. Biocidal meaning it kills inactivates all types of organisms in a non selective manner, viruses, bacteria, fungi and even spores. A disinfectant does not necessarily do this, for most disinfectants are selective in what they kill. lodophors carry all the iodine in a complex form,thereby leaving small concentrations of free iodine in the solution. This property helps reduce the drawbacks associated with the presence of elemental iodine i.e. high toxicity, high level of irritation and staining power. lodophors retain the germicidal action, but not the undesirable properties of iodine.

​

loclox-A is formulated with a food grade iodine trace minerals that play an important role in promoting growth and development. In animals iodine deficiency can result in lowered metabolism, abortions, anemia, retarded growth etc. There have been no reported cases of toxicity resulting from too much iodine, which occurs naturally in soil, food and water.

​

Ingredients:

A concentrated liquid solution of selected organic plant extracts of natural origin, citric acid combined with nutritional food grade iodine salts for maximizing free iodine 12 availability using a patent pending process. It should be understood that only the free iodine portion of any iodine (iodophor) product is biocidal. Titratable levels of iodine in no way indicate the efficacy of a specific products ability to kill bacteria.

Bio Acid

A SPECIALLY DESIGNED ORGANIC ACID MIXTURE FOR THE ACIDIFICATION OF POULTRY DRINKING WATER

 

Water is the most essential nutrient for poultry. Birds consume more water than feed. Water is involved virtually in every physiological process. Water is a medium for transporting nutrients and food along the gastrointestinal tract. Water plays an important role in regulating body temperature and is a component of many basic chemical reactions. In modern day poultry production water should be provided as clean as possible in order to avoid the contamination with microorganisms. Good quality water is very important for good digestion and to create a healthy gut flora, which will help the bird to absorb all the essential nutrients.

​

Diseases of the digestive tract, a high mortality and an unsatisfactory growth performance are the main causes for losses in animal production. Stress and a low tolerance against pathogens from the feed may lead to bacterial infections of the gut and therefore low utilisation of the nutrients in the feed.

​

BioAcid is a blend of different organic acids and their salts combined with saponins of vegetal extract. The blend was developed to ensure the best possible balance between the different properties of the respective acids. BioAtid improves feed hygiene and reduces digestive disorders in your animals.

 

How do organic acids work?

The antimicrobials activity of organic acids is related to reduction in pH and its ability to dissociate, which is determined by the pKa value of the respective acid and the pH of the surrounding environment. The organic acids are lipid soluble in undissociated form. The more the undissociated form of organic acids the better the efficacy. Hence the selection of organic acid is very critical in determining the efficacy of the product. The undissociated form of the organic acid penetrates the cell membrane of bacteria.

 

  • Inside the cell the acid dissociates according to internal pH: acids-> anion +H+ (proton)

  • The H+ (proton) decreases pH in the cell. The bacteria use its energy resources trying to remove the protons and dies.

  • Anions of organic acids deactivate RNA transferaze enzyme, which damage nucleic acid multiplication process and eventually result in death of the organism.

​

Addifer lowers the gut pH: Low pH in the gut protects animals from pathogens entering the gastro-intestinal tract. Acid production in the stomach is often in adequate to lower the pH and buffering capacity of the feed. Acidifier continues the acidification to reduce the gut pH and enhance the activity of proteolytic enzymes. Simultaneously it inhibits the growth of E .soli and Salmonella to check morbidity and mortality.

Positive effect on gut mucosal morphology

With this positive effect acidifier stimulates pancreatic secretion which leads to improved digestion, absorption and retention of protein, amino acids and phosphorus. Finally it lowers fecal contents of these nutrients to reduce the environmental load.

​

Advantage in young chicks:

Acid production in proventriculus and crop of young chicks is not sufficient to give protection against harmful microbes, hence feeding of acidifier to chicks is necessary. Low pH in the gut also helps for the activation of pepsinogens to active pepsins. Low pepsin activity decreases the digestion of feed proteins entering the lower gut which causes loose droppings. Simultaneously the acidifier prevents the adherence of pathogens to the gut wall, paving the way to useful microbes to get attached to gut mucosa to offer additional protection.

Poor egg shell quality is a huge hidden cost to the egg producer. Estimates are that more than 10% of eggs produced in the hen house are uncollectible or break before intended use. The economic losses for the breeders will be even more due to reduced hatchability and chick livability. Therefore, every effort must be directed towards improving shell quality and reducing egg breakage.

Argonite is a ground sea shell flour. It is a natural calcium source. This is important for hard shell, egg layers, and good bone growth in growing and finishing birds. It is obvious that in order to maintain good egg shell quality it is necessary to assure adequate calcium nutrition. Hens producing approximately 300-320 eggs per year must deposit 24 times more calcium into egg shells than the amount contained in their bones. For this reason, the requirement for calcium supply in the diet is enormous. During the 20 hr period in which the egg shell is formed, the hen must deposit 25 mg of calcium on the egg surface every 15 minutes.

Vitamin C supplementation was beneficial to maintain hens performances including interior and exterior egg quality under severe environmental stressesThe decline in egg shell quality is not only affected by the decreased intake of calcium and phosphorus but also by the depletion of ascorbic acid required for the conversion of 25- hydroxyvitamin D3 produced by the liver into the hormone calcitriol produced in kidney, which is essential for regulation of calcium metabolism and egg shell calcification.

 

Purified Sodium sesquicarbonate

An effective substance to regulate metabolism and acid- base balance of the chicken body. Sodium bicarbonate can promote the growth of the chicken body, improve the capacity of laying eggs, strengthen the chicken's physique, enhance the chicken's resistances to disease. Adding sodium bicarbonate powder in the laying hens' feed can increase the consistence of sodium ion and bicarbonate ion in the chicken body's blood. This benefits to the formulation of eggshells; sodium bicarbonate can increase the activity of phosphate in feed, satisfy the layer hens' demand for phosphate, increase the hardness of eggshells, reduce the ratio of defective eggs such as soft preserved eggs, thin shelled eggs, deformed eggs and so on. Sodium bicarbonate also can improve the using rate of protein in laying hens' diets, thereby improve the egg production.

Organic Minerals :

Zinc, Manganese and copper are compounds involved in the metabolic process of eggshell formation. These trace minerals work as co-factors of enzymes involved with shell matrix formation. Carbonic anhydrase, which is zinc dependant, stimulates calcium carbonate deposition for eggshell formation. Polymerase enzyme, which is dependent on manganese, forms the shell glycoprotein matrix or foundation.Supplementing the diet with highly bioavailable minerals like mineral-amino acid complexes increases the eggshell weight and eggshell thickness. Copper affects the synthesis of shell membrane by activity of copper containing enzyme lysyl oxidase.

Dietary supplementation of zinc methionine improved the shell breaking strength. Organic zinc was associated with higher activity of carbonic anhydrase and in turn with improved shell quality. The fact that zinc is a co-factor of this enzyme makes both activity and proper function of this enzyme potentially sensitive to trace elements, their interactions and availability.

When kelp meal is fed to chickens it increases egg production and strengths shells and iodine content in eggs.

Kelp is a valuable supplement that provides vitamins, minerals, amino acids and carbohydrates that in general, improve the overall health of chickens. Kelp meal can be fed to baby chicks right after hatch and thorough out the lifetime of the flock.

Many of the minerals include: calcium, magnesium, nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, sodium, sulfur, cobalt, copper, iodine, iron, selenium.

​

Additionally, kelp provides uniform shell texture and structure to maintain proper intestinal flora and bacteria. By adding small amounts of kelp to your poultry's diet, they will gobble us less food and show an improved overall health, with fewer diseases​.

Poultry Electrolyte Stess Combo

During periods of potential heat stress, many producers supplement drinking water with electrolytes. Electrolytes are certain minerals found in the blood that are important for normal cell function and growth.
